If Roswell marks the beginning of Government Searcy about the UFO Topic. Why does our own Government, Private Sector Agencies and Military denied and cover up UAP, UFO, USO, Extraterrestrials, Aliens, Non-Human Intelligences and abductions?
The situation has changed dramatically since the 2017 revelations. The old strategy of denial is no longer tenable. Here’s what is being done to bring this matter to the public:
1. Governmental and Legislative Action:
The UAP Task Force (UAPTF) & The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO): The Pentagon has officially stood up offices (AARO in 2022) to investigate UAP sightings. Their mandate is to "detect, identify, and attribute" objects of interest in or near military training areas and critical airspace. This formalizes the investigation and destigmatizes reporting for military personnel.
Congressional Hearings and Bipartisan Interest: Congress, particularly members of both intelligence committees, has taken a serious interest. Public hearings (May 2022, July 2023) have featured testimony from high-ranking intelligence officials and whistleblowers like David Grusch (2023). Grusch's claims under oath about secret retrieval and reverse-engineering programs were a bombshell.
Whistleblower Protections: The FY2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) included provisions, spearheaded by Senators like Kirsten Gillibrand and Marco Rubio, that provide protections for government and private sector employees to come forward with information about UAP programs without losing their security clearances or facing retaliation. This is a direct attempt to break through the wall of secrecy.
The UAP Disclosure Act of 2023: Proposed by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Mike Rounds, this was a monumental piece of legislation. It aimed to create a presidentially-appointed review board with the authority to declassify government records concerning UAPs, emulating the JFK Assassination Records Board. While it was significantly watered down in final negotiations, its introduction at such a high level shows the intense pressure for disclosure.
2. Military and Intelligence Community Shift:
Declassified Videos: The official declassification and release of the "Tic Tac" (2004), "Gimbal," and "GoFast" (2015) videos by the Navy and Pentagon validated the experiences of pilots and proved that the phenomena were real, unknown, and a legitimate concern to the military.
Destigmatizing Reporting: The military has actively encouraged pilots and personnel to report UAP encounters without fear of professional ridicule. This has led to a significant increase in reports, which are now being collected in a systematic way.
3. Cultural and Scientific Shift:
Media Coverage: Major outlets like the New York Times, The Washington Post, and Politico now report on UAPs with seriousness, driven by the gravity of the government's own admissions.
Scientific Interest: The stigma is lifting in the scientific community. Prestigious institutions like Harvard's Galileo Project, led by astronomer Avi Loeb, are using scientific instruments to systematically study the sky for UAPs and potential extraterrestrial artifacts. This moves the topic from the realm of speculation to data-driven inquiry.
Full public "acceptance" of non-human intelligence is a process, not an event. What is happening now is the normalization of the conversation and the official acknowledgment of the mystery.
The government is not yet saying, "Extraterrestrials are here." They are saying:
"UAPs are real." (They exist in our airspace.)
"They are a potential national security threat." (They exhibit capabilities we don't understand and can interfere with military operations.)
"We don't know what they are." (They are "unidentified," with five potential explanatory categories: airborne clutter, natural atmospheric phenomena, USG or industry developmental programs, foreign adversary systems, and a catch-all "other" bin.)
The current efforts are focused on data collection, analysis, and declassification of historical records. The goal is to remove the topic from the shadows of conspiracy and place it into the light of official, scientific, and public scrutiny. Acceptance will follow as more data is gathered and, potentially, if more conclusive evidence is presented and officially confirmed.
